What You'll Do As a Teacher Assistant, you'll be an essential partner in the classroom—helping students ages 3-12 grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Working closely with a classroom teacher and under the guidance of the principal, you'll bring learning to life through hands‑on support and meaningful interactions.
Your daily impact will include:
Supporting individual students or small groups to reinforce lessons Guiding independent study, enrichment, and remedial activities Assisting with grading, prepping materials, and organizing classroom tools Helping lead group activities and school‑wide events Preparing supplies and instructional resources for daily learning Supervising students during lunch, recess, field trips, and special events Participating in professional development to sharpen your skills Pitching in wherever needed to keep the classroom running smoothly What You Bring Skills & Strengths A flexible, upbeat, collaborative spirit Clear and confident communication in English Basic computer skills or a willingness to learn A commitment to quality, care, and student success Unique interests or hobbies that enrich the learning environment Comfort working with students from diverse backgrounds Experience Experience working with young children (ages 3-12) Familiarity with educational settings or tutoring (preferred) Basic computer literacy Education Requirements You must meet one of the following: 60+ college credit hours Associate's degree or higher Passing score on the Missouri ParaPro or Paraprofessional Assessment Completion of Missouri's online Substitute Training Program Valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate Approval by the Board of Education dLJj48sifD
