Job Description

Summary The Education & Outreach Coordinator is a programmatic leadership and logistical role responsible for the development, implementation, and administrative oversight of prevention and outreach initiatives. This position acts as the primary liaison for strategic partnerships, manages key project activities, and ensures the coordinated effort of outreach teams to successfully deliver health education and HIV/STI testing services to targeted communities . Reports to : Director of Outreach or Deputy Director of Prevention & Outreach (Depending on location)
Key Responsibilities Program Management:
Oversee and facilitate all project-related activities associated with specific grants or high-impact prevention programs. This includes developing and implementing program components, and monitoring progress against stated objectives.
Partnership Development:
Serve as the representative of the organization to external community venues and campuses. Proactively establish and maintain strategic relationships and partnerships through networking to expand program reach.
Team and Peer Program Oversight:
Lead the development and ongoing management of peer advocacy or mentor programs (e.g., Campus Ambassadors) as needed.
Strategic Outreach Design:
Identify, implement, and coordinate all major opportunities for education and testing activities, including developing culturally competent strategies for reaching priority and high-risk populations.
Administrative Compliance & Reporting:
Maintain thorough program documentation, demonstrate strong attention to detail in all departmental reporting, and ensure the accurate and timely submission of compliance data required by funding sources and regulatory bodies.
Client Linkage Support:
Support the team's ability to link patients and potential patients with navigation services (e.g., PrEP Navigator) and provide appropriate follow-up related to medical care access.
Program Support:
Provide direct HIV/STI testing support, education, and risk-reduction counseling.
Qualifications Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, or a related field OR demonstrated experience in program coordination and community engagement.
Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of public health program management, grant administration, and knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STIs, and PrEP.
Skills:
Exceptional organizational, networking, and public speaking skills. Proven ability to coordinate complex activities and manage external relationships.
Requirements:
Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. Willingness to work flexible, non-traditional hours (evenings/weekends) to manage and oversee outreach events.
ABILITIES
  • Ability to adapt to maintain flexibility in growing agency.
  • Strong ability to interact with diverse groups and cultures to cultivate an inclusive and healthy work environment.
  • Ability to work nontraditional work hours. This includes occasionally working weekends and/or evenings for special outreach events.
  • Ability to travel to program and training locations.
  • Ability or comfortability in public speaking and networking.
