Months Purpose:
The Elementary Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF) provides leadership, coaching, professional learning, and direct support to elementary educators in the effective integration of technology to improve teaching and learning. This position serves multiple schools across the district and collaborates with teachers, administrators, instructional staff, and district leaders to support student achievement, digital learning initiatives, and technology-enhanced instruction. This position aligns with the North Carolina Instructional Technology Facilitator Standards and the North Carolina Digital Teaching and Learning Competencies.
Required Licensure:
Valid North Carolina Educator License North Carolina Instructional Technology Specialist - Computer Education (License Area 077) or eligibility to obtain licensure Valid North Carolina driver's license
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership Demonstrate leadership in advancing the district's vision for digital teaching and learning. Promote the effective use of technology to improve student achievement and instructional outcomes. Assist schools in implementing district and state digital learning initiatives. Serve as a resource to school and district leadership regarding instructional technology best practices. Model professionalism, innovation, and continuous improvement. Instructional Coaching and Support Coach teachers individually and in small groups to improve instructional practices through effective technology integration. Model technology-rich lessons aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study requirements. Collaborate with teachers to design engaging, student-centered learning experiences. Support teachers in differentiating instruction through digital tools and resources. Facilitate reflective conversations that promote instructional growth and effectiveness. Assist teachers in utilizing technology to support assessment, intervention, and enrichment efforts. Professional Learning Design, facilitate, and evaluate professional learning opportunities related to instructional technology integration. Provide ongoing job-embedded support following professional development sessions. Support beginning teachers and newly hired staff in the effective use of instructional technology. Assist school staff with the implementation of district technology resources, digital platforms, and instructional software. Collaboration Collaborate with principals, instructional coaches, media coordinators, district leaders, and classroom teachers to support instructional goals. Participate in school improvement efforts and district initiatives related to digital learning. Support Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and collaborative planning efforts. Facilitate communication between schools and the Technology Department regarding instructional technology needs. Data and Program Support Analyze instructional and technology usage data to identify areas of need and opportunities for growth. Assist schools in using data to improve instructional decision-making and student outcomes. Monitor implementation of digital learning initiatives and recommend improvements. Maintain records of coaching activities, professional learning sessions, and support services provided. Technology Integration Promote responsible digital citizenship and ethical use of technology. Support the effective use of learning management systems, instructional software, assessment tools, and digital resources. Stay current on emerging educational technologies and instructional practices. Assist with pilot programs and implementation of new instructional technology resources. Travel Requirements This position serves multiple elementary schools throughout Rutherford County Schools. Daily travel between schools and district locations may be required. Occasional evening and summer work may be required to support district initiatives and professional learning opportunities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Extensive knowledge of elementary instructional practices and curriculum. Knowledge of North Carolina Instructional Technology Facilitator Standards and Digital Learning Competencies. Strong understanding of technology integration and blended learning strategies. Ability to coach adult learners and facilitate professional development. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Ability to build positive relationships with educators and administrators. Ability to analyze instructional and technology data to inform support efforts. Ability to work independently while managing multiple assignments and school locations. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Valid North Carolina teaching license. Minimum of three years of successful classroom teaching experience, preferably at the elementary level. Demonstrated experience integrating technology into classroom instruction. Experience providing professional development, coaching, mentoring, or instructional leadership preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to travel frequently between schools and district locations. Ability to lift, carry, and transport instructional technology equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, sitting, speaking, hearing, and extensive computer use. Evaluation Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the North Carolina Instructional Technology Facilitator Standards and Rutherford County Schools policies and procedures.
