Job Description

Job Title Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) Coordinator (Part-Time) Job Description The Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) Coordinator is a part-time, position located primarily on the OCH Campus in Monroe, NC. Under the direction of the ESOL Director, the IELCE Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Title II, Adult Education and Family Literacy Act IELCE grant. Essential Duties Summary
  • Develop, pilot, and implement transitional pathway models for IELCE program participants: o Collaborate with internal and external partners to establish effective transitional pathway models, providing resources for barrier assistance o Collaborate with internal partners to develop contextualized curriculum for use in Integrated Education and Training (IET) and/or pathway programs to support post-secondary and certification courses o Coordinate with internal staff and training partners to facilitate relevant enrichment activities such as guest speakers, and career exploration field trips for real world learning o Provide onboarding and ongoing instructional training to IELCE instructions, including orientation to IELCE requirements and effective instructional strategies.
o Assist in the development of recruitment and retention strategies specific to IET and/or career pathway programs. o Assist ESOL students in identifying areas of career aptitude and interest to determine career pathways. o Oversee the data tracking and analysis of all relevant program data, including class surveys, student MSGs, and student transitions into IELCE, IET and/or career pathway programs o Assist in preparing marketing materials to publicize and market transition efforts. o Prepare, submit, and maintain all required transition-related documentation.
  • Design and implement course schedules that effectively align with projected student and pathway needs.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the IELCE program, overseeing day-to-day communication and coordination with internal partners
  • Oversee and assist in coordinating student advising and navigation services delivered by Transitions Specialist
  • Assist with the development of strategies and action steps for meeting programmatic performance indicators.
  • Assist with the management of local, state, and federal IELCE documentation.
  • Attend local, regional, and state meetings and use the information received to improve service delivery and performance measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the ESOL Director and/or ABE Executive Director. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • NRS-recognized teaching credential or the ability to earn an NRS credential within two years of hire.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching adult learners.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deal effectively, cooperatively, and tactfully with students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Personal and professional integrity, which communicates a sense of mission, leadership, and ability to self-start.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience utilizing online learning platforms and/or Learning Management Systems. Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Teachers of English for Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), Education, or related field.
  • Experience supervising and managing personnel.
