Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and passionate English educator to inspire students through engaging instruction, innovative curriculum development, and comprehensive literacy support. Duties Design and implement comprehensive curricula that incorporate current standards such as AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, and best practices in instructional design. Develop engaging lesson plans tailored to various learning levels, including special education and Montessori methodologies. Conduct classroom instruction that promotes active participation, critical thinking, and effective communication among students. Provide personalized tutoring and mentorship to support individual student needs in literacy education, creative writing, and standardized testing preparation. Edit and proofread student work with precision, ensuring clarity, coherence, and adherence to style guides. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives and participate in professional learning communities focused on research-based teaching strategies. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques while maintaining a positive learning environment. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and student engagement across diverse educational settings. Offer academic advising and support library services that foster independent research skills and lifelong learning habits. Requirements Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred. Proven experience in higher education teaching or classroom management within private or public school environments. Strong knowledge of curriculum development principles, instructional design, and assessment strategies. Familiarity with AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, proofreading techniques, and standardized testing protocols. Demonstrated ability in copy editing, research methodologies, and literacy education best practices. Experience working with students across different age groups and learning needs including special education or Montessori settings. Excellent communication skills complemented by organizational skills necessary for lesson planning and classroom management. Skills in mentoring students, providing instructional feedback, and fostering academic growth through tutoring or coaching roles. Knowledge of learning technology platforms and library services to support research-based projects.
