An Instructional Coach is an experienced, highly-trained educator whose work focuses on refining teacher practices in the classroom with the primary indicator of success being learner achievement. Coaches utilize coaching cycles to work in collaboration with educators as equal partners towards a common student-centered goal. Coaching builds teacher efficacy by working with teachers to refine their instructional practices to close the achievement gap and accelerate learning for all students. Instructional coaches provide instruction, model effective teaching strategies, and lead building professional development to improve instruction and ultimately student learning. Instructional Coaches will be hired, placed, and evaluated by the building principal at the discretion of the Director of Standards-Based Instruction in consultation with the Associate Superintendent of Elementary Education.Responsibilities:
Instructional Coach:
Provide guidance, feedback, and reflection in both areas of academics and Catalyst to improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching. This includes mentoring new teachers, co-planning, co-teaching, modeling,? observing classroom practices, and facilitating professional development sessions. The coach also collaborates with teachers to address student learning needs.Curriculum Coach:
Align instructional practices with curriculum standards to meet student needs. The coach works with teachers on standards-based planning, setting learning goals, and using formative assessments. They support the adoption of new curricula, pacing guides, and common assessments to ensure district consistency.Data Coach:
Analyze student achievement data to inform instruction and align with building-wide goals. The coach helps teachers use data to identify strengths and weaknesses in student performance, aligns interventions, and facilitates the MTSS processes. They also educate teachers about the effective use of district assessments.Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts degree Valid ND Teaching License A minimum of 5 years of successful elementary teaching experiencePreferred Qualifications:
Ability to interpret and analyze data Ability to create and present effective presentations Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and individuals Ability to use technology Ability to work effectively as part of a team Ability to maintain the confidentiality of schools, teachers and classrooms Experience in using assessment results to guide instruction Knowledge of research and best practices in instructional design and differentiating instruction Application Procedures All applications for open Fargo Public Schools positions must be made via www.applitrack.com/fargo/onlineapp. Paper submissions will not be accepted.
