RELATIONS SPECS-3.
This position is part-time, cannot exceed 29.5 hours per week and does not offer health insurance benefits.
Summary:
Administers and supports the Division's responsibility to implement a public fire safety education program, pursuant to RSA 153:10-c. Plans, develops, coordinates and provides activities and programs in the areas of fire prevention, life safety and community relations.
YOUR EXPERIENCE COUNTS
Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience and/or each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of experience OR equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after completion of high school. Education and experience must be in communications, public relations, marketing, education or educational programming, digital media, graphic design, web development, social media management, fire science, fire training, or a related field.
License/Certification:
Valid driver's license
Other Requirements:
Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check and motor vehicle record check
Trainee Option:
Candidates with an equivalent combination of 4+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in 'trainee status' for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience ensuring website compliance with accessibility standards, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), with the ability to evaluate and remediate digital content for accessibility. 2. Experience serving as a website administrator, including managing content updates, overseeing site structure and functionality, coordinating with IT or vendors, and ensuring accuracy, usability, and performance of web-based platforms. 3. Experience developing and managing website and social media communications, including content creation, messaging strategy, audience engagement, and analytics across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), and YouTube.

Responsibilities:
Utilizes graphic design, social and multi-media to promote and coordinate approved fire and life safety education and prevention programs throughout the state, to include high risk populations such as children and the elderly. Assists with social media account management, strategy development and content generation across platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc. Consults with and provides resources to fire departments and other reputable agencies to conduct and/or implement a fire and life safety education curriculum within their community. Develops and markets the Division and fire and life safety educational campaigns to include, but not limited to, logos, print material, website administration and other media. Researches, collects and analyzes fire data to interpret, develop and promote appropriate fire and life safety campaigns, to include any recommended data-driven changes. Coordinates statewide seasonal fire safety campaigns including, but not limited to, Fire Prevention Week, Arson Awareness Week, Campus Fire Safety Week, Fireworks Safety and Holiday Safety. Represents the Division as a member of reputable statewide fire and life safety coalition(s) and committees, providing knowledge, education and technical support. Researches and applies for grants to support the Division's fire and life safety education mission. Interacts with television, radio, social and print media to promote fire and life safety education.
