04/01/2026 The Black Horse Pike Regional School District has an opening for a Supervisor of Social Studies and World Languages and/or MLL for the 2026-2027 school year. Qualifications Valid New Jersey Teacher of Social Studies Certificate and preferably valid New Jersey World Language teaching certificate or MLL Certificate. Valid New Jersey Supervisor's Certificate or Letter of Eligibility. Previous experience supervising teachers in the Social Studies or World Language Departments, MLL Reports To Building Principal Job Goal The Supervisor is responsible for leading continuous improvement in teaching and learning within assigned content areas. This includes curriculum development, instructional supervision, staff evaluation, and professional development. The Supervisor serves as a collaborative liaison between district leadership, building administration, and department staff, with a central focus on equity, innovation, and student achievement. Performance Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Supervise and evaluate teachers in assigned curricular areas in alignment with district policy and NJDOE requirements, utilizing current clinical supervision models. Support teachers in designing engaging, student-centered learning experiences that foster critical thinking, global awareness, and cultural competency. Guide staff in effective use of instructional technology, digital resources, and data-driven practices to improve student outcomes. Support and assist with the planning of school and district wide events that support the curriculum of the Social Studies World Language departments and/or MLL. Curriculum & Assessment Lead ongoing curriculum development and revision to ensure alignment with New Jersey Student Learning Standards, state mandates, district goals, and emerging best practices. Oversee assessment of student progress; collaborate with staff to identify and address learning gaps and program needs. Prepare, review, and update program descriptions, course offerings, and graduation requirements in the District Program of Studies. Facilitate interdisciplinary learning opportunities and connections across subject areas. Professional Development & Support Design and deliver professional learning opportunities, including induction, mentoring, and coaching for new and experienced staff. Promote a culture of reflective practice, continuous growth, and collaboration among teachers. Disseminate current research, instructional strategies, and trends in social studies, world languages, and global education. Program & Resource Management Manage budgets for assigned content areas, including textbook adoption, supplemental materials, and instructional resources. Collaborate with staff in selecting instructional materials that reflect diverse perspectives and support inclusive practices. Review curriculum maps, unit plans, and lesson plans to ensure program fidelity and resource alignment. Coordinate student teacher placements within the department. Collaboration & Communication Serve as liaison between the Principal, department staff, and central administration to support clear communication and shared goals. Engage parents, students, and the community in understanding the district's instructional vision for Social Studies World Languages and/or MLL. Collaborate with other supervisors to support interdisciplinary initiatives, scheduling, and districtwide programs. Represent the district at state, regional, and national conferences and committees as appropriate. Other Duties Support the development of equitable grading and assessment practices. Assist in building master schedules, room assignments, and staffing recommendations. Coordinate the annual Biliteracy testing for the district in coordination with each school. Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or Director of Curriculum and Instruction in support of district goals.
Salary for this position:
Salary based on education and experience, per the Supervisor Salary Guide, starting at $89,525.
