Job Description

Learning Design Specialist (Google | Education + AI)
Location:
New York, NY (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration:
6-Month Contract | Full-Time (40 hrs/week) About the Team Google's education teams build products that help people learn for school, work, and life. This role supports AI-powered education experiences with a strong focus on pedagogy, learning science, and instructional quality. What You'll Do Partner with product and education teams to improve AI-driven learning experiences Apply learning science principles to education product design Prototype and refine AI education features, including prompt writing/editing Evaluate AI tutoring systems and learning tools from an educator perspective Design engaging learning experiences and instructional materials Conduct quality reviews and analyze learner feedback/metrics Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across product, content, and operations teams Required Qualifications 4+ years of experience teaching or tutoring science or math (high school or college level) Experience designing or improving K-12 EdTech or digital learning products Hands-on experience with Generative AI and prompt engineering Strong understanding of instructional design, pedagogy, and learning sciences Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams Strong communication and project coordination skills Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides) Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of LLMs or AI systems Experience conducting educator training or professional development Data analysis and learning measurement experience Advanced studies in learning sciences or pedagogy Ideal Background Candidates may come from: Instructional Design Curriculum Development EdTech Product Design STEM Education Learning Experience Design (LXD) AI for Education Why This Role?
