Spectrum Health & Human Services Agency Profile :

326 Orchard Park Rd, West Seneca
SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION
Our Family Court Assessment Specialist works from the Agency's Buffalo office location and provides psychosocial assessments for litigants of the 8th Judicial District's Erie County Family and Supreme Integrated Domestic Violence Courts.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain monthly litigant appointment schedule Conduct comprehensive face to face interviews of litigants (both children and adults) in order to assess psychiatric functioning, relational functioning, parenting skill sets and abilities, strengths, weaknesses, detection and reporting of child abuse/neglect, mental status exam, risk assessment, psychiatric diagnosis, and history Obtain collateral information pertinent to case within the bounds of HIPAA regulations Generate comprehensive written reports summarizing interview and collateral contact information in a timely and well-ordered manner according to deadlines of the court calendar Provide verbal testimony as needed to the courts Participate in meetings Maintain cooperative working relationships with others, including judicial officers, attorneys, supervisors, coworkers, other agencies, and the public.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
Must possesses a high level of interpersonal skill Requires superior organizational skills Must be flexible and able to work efficiently in a deadline based environment, and possesses superior writing proficiencies Candidate must also be computer literate, able to independently utilize programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook Express, and Internet
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Master's Degree in counseling, social work, or other human services field License in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
EXPERIENCE
Five years of experience in working with children and families. Knowledge of family court system and general social services law helpful
