Job Description

Moore Youth and Family Services Education Specialist Job Description:
The position, Education Specialist works with Moore Youth and Family Services to provide classroom support, record integrity, and facilitates prosocial learning activities on behalf of Moore Youth and Family Services. This position facilitates learning groups in life skills programming for the agency, rehabilitation and prosocial core programming, and runs all agency camps. The Education Specialists for the agency provide services on grounds at Moore Public Schools as well as at Moore Youth and Family Services.

None Job Responsibilities:
Learn, teach, and enhance MYFS training courses under the prevention services umbrella. Provide educational services to students in the areas of life skills including Parent Perfect, Life Transitions, Workplace Readiness, Independent Living, Positive Adolescent Social Skills, Healthy Transitions, Bull-Quit, Healthy Transitions, Journey of Hope, single courses offered independently, and other curriculum as adopted by the agency. Correspond with school personnel and other referral sources. Disseminate collateral on behalf of the agency and attend events where materials are distributed. Submit reports to MYFS. Speak on behalf of MYFS and coordinated partnerships. Interact with other staff members on providing services. Serve as a camp counselor for agency camp experiences. Involvement in outings & provide supervision and structure for clients in agency sponsored field trips, events, and recreational trips as needed. Provide support to program staff and clients. Maintain proper recording system on client services and activities. Enter client records in ChartCaddy including intakes, assessments, notes, and services. Maintain relationships with agency and partner leadership. Perform duties under general supervision. Maintain Federal Confidentiality Regulations Support other MYFS Programs. Make programmatic decisions in conjunction with the Executive Director. Other duties as assigned by the agency.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science and one year of experience in juvenile justice, social work, education, community-based prevention, or diversionary youth service programs OR Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in juvenile justice, social work, education, community-based prevention, or diversionary youth service programs OR Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or Education adjacent discipline as approved by the agency funders.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to assess individual/family problems. Theoretical counseling techniques and approaches. Well-developed and practiced inter-relationship skills. Awareness of community resources. Ability to manage time/perform responsibilities without supervision. Ability for positive role taking and role modeling processes; mature judgment. Ability to facilitate problem-solving methods with individuals, groups, and families, as well as larger community systems. Understanding of the literature in the field of chemical dependency. Ability to perform required data entry and record keeping operations by computer. Ability to provide educational instruction in several subject areas. Understanding of Medicaid billing and other billing. Microsoft Office proficient of moderate or greater. Ability to create written documentation that meets standards. Conversational skills. Teamwork and collaboration. Communication Written communication skills. Education and teaching experience. Maintain CPR certification.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a temperature-controlled office environment or public-school classroom most of the time. The agency works with elementary through high school students, and the Education Specialists are assigned schools at all levels. All staff are required to attend meetings, serve on committees on behalf of the agency, and this position travels up to 80% of their work schedule to accommodate the needs of the agency. Minimal lifting, bending, and dexterity of movement is required for this position. The agency operates from Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with Fridays virtually and the designated schedule for this position is determined upon hire with the
Executive Director Salary:
Moore Youth and Family Services provides a salary commensurate with experience. Full-time employees are eligible for paid leave, health insurance, and the agency observes 11 state holidays. The salary band for this position is $42,000-$45,000 annually.
Pay:
$42,000.00 per year
