The position serves as a liaison between Oklahoma City Community College, community partners, and prospective participants to promote program visibility, coordinate outreach efforts, and facilitate referrals to Education Navigators for participant services. The Outreach Specialist conducts presentations, attends community events, maintains referral partnerships, tracks outreach activities, and assists with program initiatives in support of grant objectives and participant success. This appointment is contingent upon availability of grant or contract funds. If the funds from the grant or contract that provide funding for this appointment are no longer available, this appointment may be terminated without cause upon written notice to the employee. Reports To Education Navigator What position(s) reports to this position? None Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree in related field Minimum (1) year experience in outreach, recruitment, or similar roles. Outreach experience should include experience working with economically disadvantaged, under-served, first-generation, or at-risk populations. Experience giving presentations and/or conducting workshops.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is light work which requires the person in this position to occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Occasionally, we need to carry materials such as client files, laptops, or educational resources, which may involve light lifting. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, staff, administration and others to perform the essential functions of the position; must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations. The role often requires sitting at a desk for long periods, especially when managing case files, documenting client interactions, and using computer systems. Frequent use of a computer is required for data entry, communication, and case management. This can involve repetitive motions such as typing. Regular use of the phone to communicate with clients, service providers, and other stakeholders. Support Specialist may need to move around the office or visit other locations, such as business partners and community partners depending on the role's specific requirements. Periods of standing or walking may be necessary when conducting outreach, attending community events, or participating in job fairs. The majority of the work is typically performed in an office environment, which is usually climate-controlled and equipped with standard office furniture and equipment. Work is performed in an office environment on the OCCC campuses, and off-site outreach locations• to perform the essential functions of the position Work is performed during office hours; on-campus and site visits may require some evening and weekend hours as needed. Preferred Qualifications Minimum (1) year experience in outreach, recruitment, or similar roles at an institution of higher education. Required Training Quarterly compliance training as assigned by the institution. Work Hours The hours of the Outreach Specialist may include daytime, evening, and some weekend hours. On-campus office hours and outreach site visits are included in weekly schedules.
