Job Description
The Faculty Professional Development Coordinator is a key resource for enhancing teaching effectiveness and student success across the college. This position plays a critical role in supporting full-time, adjunct, and part-time instructional faculty in adopting, implementing, and assessing evidence-based teaching strategies and thoughtfully integrating digital learning technologies to create engaging, accessible, and effective student learning experiences. The coordinator works collaboratively with department colleagues to design, implement, and manage the college's program of professional development that promotes pedagogical excellence, innovation in teaching, and equitable student outcomes. - AND•One year experience teaching in secondary or post-secondary settings•AND•Two (2) or more years' experience in instructional design, faculty development, or educational consulting•AND•Experience teaching in a variety of modalities including face-to-face, remote, hybrid, and/or online Core Competencies Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of instructional design and adult learning Ability to create digitally accessible materials appropriate to the business or instructional context Ability to draw from the literature around effective teaching and faculty development to inform work Effective facilitation and consultation skills Excellent interpersonal and customer services skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work well with non-technical faculty and staff Ability to manage projects, assess needs, and meet deadlines Ability to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology Demonstrable experience providing culturally responsive instruction Bicultural/multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant area of study (psychology, communications, education/instructional design, TESOL) Two (2) or more years' experience teaching in a post-secondary setting Bilingual English/Spanish
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a 100%, 11-month faculty assignment of the 192 duty day band and grade All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college. Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations If requested, you must supply official transcripts within 30-days of hire Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment. Successful applicants for designated positions must successfully pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks. Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Even though weight lifted may be negligible, it may be rated light work if frequent walking and/or standing is required.VETERANS' PREFERENCE

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
