Job Description

Anticipated Start Date:
August 2026 Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Long Term Substitute Reading Specialist to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will provide formal consultation, supportive assistance, and professional development that promote effective rigorous and relevant classroom instruction. Analyze and interpret student data and provide interventions based on that data through Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Ensure that the instructional reading levels of students are accurately determined and work closely with teachers to promote appropriate grouping of students based on instructional reading levels for small group instruction. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Principal, general education teachers, specialists, and support personnel in the design and implementation of Response to Instruction and Intervention (RTI/MTSS) Deliver instruction utilizing research-based programs, methods, and best practice Support the development, monitoring, and adjustment of instructional plans based on ongoing data analysis Utilize relationship building, educational leadership, conflict resolution, creativity, problem solving, and decision-making To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requirement s Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication Knowledge of student assessment practices, curriculum design, flexible pacing, differentiated instruction, and strategic intervention methodologies Ability to apply collaborative, solution-focused approaches to instructional challenges Understanding of effective instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs and varying levels of mastery Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
