SUMMARY:
To help investigate, apply for and secure grant funding for the Intermediate Unit and its constituent school districts. Additionally, the Educational Funding Coordinator is responsible for the IU and constituent district's Erate funding applications, BLaST Educational foundation and Federal programs for the Intermediate Unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Other duties may be assigned. To provide the IU and member districts with the information required for the preparation and production of grants. Write and submit grants within required timelines. Maintain an IU database of grant information in compliance with all state and federal requirements. Compile necessary reports and budgets as mandated by the conditions of the grants. Prepare year-end reporting data for the PDE. Monitor districts in their development and use of funds, when necessary. Assist and inform districts about new requirements as they relate to grant applications and implementation. Represent Intermediate Unit interests at PDE and PAIU meetings. Monitor and coordinate application(s) for Federal programs, and non-public schools. Maintain and respond to communications from districts and non-public schools regarding Erate, Federal programs and safe schools initiatives. Host and facilitate meetings for that purpose. Initiate or assist in the continued development of grant applications in response to new or changing requirements. Maintain communication with IU tech staff to keep current of ongoing legal, and technical changes that impact the expending of Erate funds. Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree with 2 years of educational or human services agency experience; or 5 years experience with grant preparation. Management or supervisory experience in data collection, data analysis, and reporting. Ability to research and interpret local, state, and federal reporting needs Basic knowledge of educational operations and programs with special emphasis in program development, cost accounting and progress reporting in an information systems environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and professional correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of professional staff, legislators, technology directors and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. OTHER SKILLS and

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in instructional technology to grant applications; ability to plan and implement large grants. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.
