Job Description
Summary - The Assessment Specialist aligns formative and summative assessments with standards, writes assessment items, and creates rubrics for Studies Weekly materials. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Align assessment items with internal guidelines and NGSS rubric requirements including identifying NGSS three-dimensional elements in each assessment task/item. Write standards-based assessment items using Universal Design for Assessment criteria Review existing formative, interim, and summative assessments. Create or adapt rubrics for performance tasks, inquiry projects, and participation activities This is a full-time position with an expectation of 40 hours per week. Attendance in the office three days a week is required Communication in English is required Able to react to change productively and handle other duties as assigned Regular and predictable attendance Participate in professional development, not less than 12 hours per year Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree in education, teaching, or equivalent required Minimum 3-5 years of experience in classroom teaching; elementary grades preferred Multiple years of experience teaching a single grade level preferred Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional team Formal experience in creating assessments preferred Physical Demands - The employee is required to talk, hear and see. At times, this position requires the employee to stand, sit, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, ascend and descend stairs. Also to reach with arms and hands, and use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and manipulate keyboard keys. The employee is also required to lift up to 20 lbs. Company travel may be required by car, plane, or other means of transportation."
