Senior Instructional Designer, Leadership Development Opportunity Available! We are currently representing a client in the non-profit industry that is seeking an experienced Senior Instructional Designer, Leadership Development to join their team on a temporary, fully remote basis. This assignment is expected to last 6-9 months , with the potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
Description of Assignment and Duties:
The Senior Instructional Designer will support the redesign and development of a flagship leadership development program for executive leaders and National Directors across a global network. This individual will partner closely with Talent Development professionals, subject matter experts, and key stakeholders to design and develop a six-month blended leadership development experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Design and develop a cohort-based leadership development journey for senior and executive leaders. Translate leadership competencies and behaviors into measurable learning objectives and engaging learning experiences. Create blended learning solutions that integrate virtual learning, self-directed learning, peer collaboration, reflection, application activities, and in-person leadership events. Develop facilitator guides, participant workbooks, learning resources, and supporting program materials. Design opportunities for action learning, real-world application, and behavior change. Apply adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional design methodologies to create impactful learning experiences. Develop culturally responsive and globally relevant learning solutions for diverse audiences. Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex concepts into learner-centered content. Develop asynchronous learning components and digital learning assets as needed. Manage project timelines, milestones, stakeholder feedback, and multiple design workstreams. Facilitate design sessions, stakeholder reviews, and collaborative working meetings. Support learning measurement strategies and evaluation methods to assess program effectiveness and learning transfer. Provide thought partnership and innovative ideas related to leadership development and adult learning best practices.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Years of Experience:
Bachelor's Degree required. 5+ years of instructional design and learning experience design experience. Demonstrated experience designing leadership development programs for senior-level and executive audiences. Experience creating blended learning solutions utilizing virtual, in-person, and self-directed learning modalities. Proven experience developing facilitator guides, participant materials, learning resources, and digital learning assets. Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, behavior change methodologies, and learning experience design. Experience designing learning programs for global and multicultural audiences. Exceptional project management, organization, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage ambiguity, navigate evolving priorities, and deliver high-quality work independently. Strong written communication and content development capabilities. Experience collaborating across multiple functions, regions, and organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within complex, global, matrixed organizations. Background in leadership development, talent development, organizational development, or executive education. Experience with eLearning development and digital learning technologies. Experience designing global leadership development programs. Familiarity with leadership assessments, coaching, action learning, and talent development practices. Multilingual capabilities are a plus. #AP123
