About the Position A Senior Instructional Designer leads projects from intake to deployment and is accountable for consulting with business leaders to ensure effective course design, development, and meeting overall project timelines. Train, mentor, and coach instructional designers as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
1. Design, develop, and implement innovative and creative learning solutions, using a variety of methods and tools, participates in needs assessment to ensure materials address learner needs and close performance gaps 2. Apply a range of current learning technologies to develop and enhance course design and delivery. Adhere to best-in-class instructional design processes that produces effective, high-quality, innovative, and creative materials in an efficient manner; evaluates materials to ensure conformance with established University policies, practices, and standards as well as instructional alignment and appropriate styles, standards, and specifications to achieve established program outcomes. 3. Use multiple measures of student learning outcomes to formulate recommendations for course and program improvement; presents research findings and recommendations to management and/or curriculum review committee as needed or requested; participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of student assessment activities. 4. Assist with large scale, complex, strategic projects for the department through effective work prioritization and project management; brainstorm with leadership on strategy and vision and participates in cross-functional workgroups; researches and applies emerging technology and concepts to educational initiatives; work independently with minimum direction to take projects successfully from incept to implementation. 5. Apply knowledge of learning theories and application of best practice for course design, pedagogy, technology integration, and assessment (summative and formative assessments, rubric development, CSLO alignment, and appropriate leveling via Bloom's taxonomy). 6. Design, create and build curricular content in learning management systems (LMS). 7. Design, create and edit curricular video content. 8. Use authoring tools (e.g. Word Press, Rise and Storyline) to design, create and build curricular content which will be used in LMS. 9. Apply accessibility requirements and utilize accessibility tools. Test usability of created content in LMS as appropriate. 10. Mentor and coach team members on proper instructional design techniques to improve overall quality and productivity; plan, develop, and facilitate learning sessions on emerging technology and course development trends. 11. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through current research and attending educational workshops. 12. Conduct research to support and improve instructional design practices. 13. Perform other duties as required or apparent.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in instructional design or related area Four (4) years of experience in instructional design
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Detailed knowledge of adult learning, instructional design and distance learning theories, and methodologies Master's degree in instructional design or related area preferred Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications Proficient knowledge of various eLearning tools such as Articulate Storyline or similar Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, superior organizational skills, client management skills, self-direction, and motivation Ability to handle multiple complex projects Ability to listen, and respond to internal customer needs in a timely manner Manage time effectively to complete projects and meet deadlines Creative and concise writing ability Confident, collaborative and results-driven; consultative orientation, strong people, and process/project management capability Inquisitive, perceptive and flexible Ability to provide advanced instructional design consulting services #LI-SM1 University of Phoenix is an Equal Opportunity employer. Pay Range The annual pay range for this position is $65,800 (minimum), $99,400 (midpoint), and $133,000 (maximum).• Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget. Compensation above the midpoint is generally associated with experienced, long-tenured employees who have demonstrated sustained performance and expertise in the role.
