  • 5/22/2026 6:00 PM MDT The STEM Action Center seeks a highly qualified Program Support Specialist that has a demonstrated track record of experience in working with a diverse set of STEM stakeholders.
The activities aligned with this position includes the coordination of project goals and objectives as outlined in legislation, the ability to work with stakeholders to facilitate grant development and implementation, and the ability to engage community partners by communicating the role and value of the STEM Action Center. This individual should be able to understand how STEM activities are deployed and function in the context of higher education, industry, and K-12 (administrative as well as in the elementary, middle and high school classroom). Key Responsibilities Provide administrative oversight for STEM in Motion driver; ensure the timely and safe delivery of STEM in Motion curriculum kits to K-12 schools across the State of Utah. Create, facilitate and present STEM curriculum based on educational best practices and content standard requirement. Develop and implement assessment tools to determine STEM curriculum impact. Coordinate logistics and communications for programs, including determining deadlines, maintaining ongoing relationships with educators and professionals, and creating project roadmaps. Collaborate with community partners and the Center to connect educators to STEM resources such as equipment, training and professional development. Recruit and retain volunteers in order to support Center events and build community relationships. Foster partner relationships by maintaining communication regarding Center mission, vision and successes. Facilitate and assist in all outreach and engagement efforts. Coordinate one or more statewide or agency-wide project(s). Help determine project goals and objectives and/or assist committees established to support the project. Write and present project plan(s), recommendation(s) and/or findings. Monitor and evaluate project operations, processes and/or practices for quality and effectiveness; make recommendations for improvement. Analyze, summarize and/or review data; report findings, interpret results and/or make recommendations. Facilitate the use of research data to improve existing projects and utilization of resources. Facilitate and assist in all community-based efforts. Partner with industry to involve them in Center activities; help to increase corporate support, create additional program opportunities and support student and teacher participation and success. Coordinate outreach with other state agencies (i.e. Utah State Board of Education, Department of Workforce Services, etc.) to ensure efforts are aligned with Center mission and goals. Deliver presentations, training, or instruction to educators, management, stakeholders, and/or the general public regarding the activities of the Center. Assist in the creation and coordination of a STEM resource database. Coordinate grant(s) and assist in ensuring grant compliance including, but not limited to: organizing, coordinating, and compiling information for the Center's progress reports. Serve on various boards, councils, committees, or task forces to coordinate Center activities and facilitate Center goals and initiatives. Travel to schools across the State of Utah to deliver STEM in Motion curriculum kits, some overnight travel required. Other duties as assigned by Center staff, including some administrative duties.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Experience with both education and workforce-related project management. Detail oriented with excellent written and oral communication and writing skills. Ability to effectively use office productivity software, i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, and Email/Calendar management tools. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with private and public sector decision makers ability to adapt to and assist in a continuous process improvement culture. Knowledge in project management, K-12 school systems and higher education, STEM programs develop approaches for implementation of an idea, project or change in operations. Agency, professional and/or industry standards and practices. Ability to apply logic to decision-making or problem-solving. Control or direct the operation of a program or function. Speak clearly, concisely and effectively; listen to, and understand, information and ideas as presented verbally. Experience is using research methods, techniques, and/or sources of information. Deliver presentations or training using acceptable methods and techniques. Compose and produce reports, documents and related material. Communicate information and ideas clearly, and concisely, in writing; read and understand information presented in writing agency and/or organizational program(s). Must possess a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline. About the Role Location
