Educator - Secondary Technology Education Certification Cumberland School Department - 4.1 Cumberland, RI Job Details 8 hours ago Full Job Description •Applicant must have or be eligible for a Secondary Math or Science Certification with Computer Science preferred through the RI Department of Education•As a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) teacher we hope that you feel excited about engaging students in hands-on, design solutions oriented learning. You will be expected to plan and deliver instruction aligned with ISTE standards and best practices in STEM education. You will also collaborate with other professionals to strengthen their curriculum and will serve as a CTE teacher.

Responsible for providing instruction on areas such as the engineering design process, research and development, CAD, computer science, and development of soft skills.

Primary responsibilities: o Deliver instruction on topics such as engineering design, research, computer aided drafting, basic electronics and computer science.o Improve students' knowledge of engineering design process and entry-level skills needed for postsecondary engineering goals.o Teach a variety of Engineering, CAD and Computer Science courses.o Deliver the skills and knowledge necessary for students to function as responsible citizens in the business world.o Keep records of grades, grade papers, and perform other administrative duties as needed.o Create projects designed to enhance lessons.o Read and stay abreast of current topics in STEM.o Create lesson plans.o Utilize various curriculum resources.o Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.o Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.o Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs.o Work with program coordinators to ensure initiatives are being met - CTE Pathway development
