The Catholic Coordinator of Education provides coordination, administration, and program support for Catholic religious education activities at MCAS Beaufort Chapel. This role supports faith formation and sacramental preparation programs for children, youth, and adults, working closely with the Command Chaplain, Catholic priest(s), chapel staff, and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery and continuity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Catholic Coordinator of Education will: Coordinate and administer Catholic religious education programs for children, youth, and adults Support sacramental preparation programs, including First Reconciliation, First Communion, Confirmation, and
RCIA/OCIA
Coordinate schedules, classrooms, instructional materials, and volunteer catechists Maintain attendance, program records, and sacramental documentation Recruit, train, and support volunteers and catechists Communicate with families, chapel leadership, and ministry participants Prepare and distribute calendars, materials, and program announcements Support seasonal events, retreats, and religious education activities Maintain inventory and accountability of program supplies and materials Attend meetings and support administrative coordination for Catholic ministry programs Ensure all activities comply with chapel policies, installation regulations, and Catholic standards Education and/or
Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Religious Education, Theology, Ministry, Education, or related field OR equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience Minimum two (2) years of experience supporting Catholic religious education or parish ministry programs Experience working with children, youth, adults, and volunteers Strong organizational, communication, and administrative skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred:
Experience supporting military chapel or Department of Defense religious programs Catholic catechist certification or diocesan credentials Familiarity with sacramental preparation processes Experience coordinating volunteer-based ministry programs Knowledge of military culture and military family needs Work Schedule Full-time position (approximately 40 hours per week) Primarily weekdays with occasional evenings, weekends, and holy day support Schedule varies based on religious education programming needs Work Environment Work performed on-site at MCAS Beaufort Chapel facilities Office, classroom, and ministry-based environment Requires interaction with military personnel, families, clergy, and volunteers Security & Requirements Must be able to obtain and maintain installation access Must successfully complete required background screening Must comply with all installation and chapel policies Professional Standards The Coordinator must: Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and communication at all times Demonstrate respect for religious traditions and military community values Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions
