May 28, 2026 Position Summary Texans Can Academies is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and student-centered Part-Time Curriculum Alignment & Review Specialist to support the evaluation, revision, and development of instructional materials aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), state accountability expectations, and best instructional practices. This position plays a critical role in ensuring curriculum resources are rigorous, engaging, accessible, and responsive to the needs of diverse learners, including students in alternative education settings. The specialist will collaborate with academic leadership and instructional teams to strengthen curriculum coherence, assessment alignment, and instructional effectiveness across content areas. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Educational Leadership, or ducation Requirements:
a related field. Valid Texas educator certification preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in curriculum writing, instructional coaching, classroom teaching, educational leadership, or related instructional support roles. Demonstrated knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), STAAR-tested standards, and Texas accountability systems. Experience with curriculum alignment, instructional planning, assessment development, and educational best practices. Strong written communication, editing, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a flexible work environment. Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and digital instructional platforms. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with alternative education programs or at-risk student populations. Familiarity with blended learning, accelerated instruction, credit recovery, or personalized learning models. Experience reviewing curriculum materials for rigor, accessibility, and instructional alignment. Knowledge of culturally responsive instructional practices and inclusive learning environments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Review curriculum documents, instructional resources, assessments, and pacing guides for TEKS alignment, rigor, and instructional quality. Evaluate instructional materials for vertical and horizontal alignment across grade levels and content areas. Provide written recommendations and actionable feedback to improve curriculum clarity, accessibility, engagement, and instructional effectiveness. Support the revision and development of curriculum resources, teacher guides, exemplars, and supplemental instructional materials. Ensure curriculum materials align with high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) indicators and state accountability expectations. Incorporate instructional scaffolds, differentiation strategies, and accommodations to support multilingual learners, students receiving special education services, and diverse student populations. Collaborate with curriculum leaders, instructional coaches, and campus staff to meet project timelines and deliverables. Analyze curriculum resources and instructional materials using student performance data and best practices in instructional design. Research emerging instructional practices, curriculum trends, and TEA guidance related to teaching and learning. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accuracy in all curriculum review and development processes. Supervisory Responsibilities:
