STEM Curriculum Coordinator - Teaching and Learning Starting at $68,000 + commensurate with experience
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Teaching and Learning STEM Curriculum Coordinator supports the development, alignment, implementation, and continuous improvement of district mathematics and science curriculum, assessment systems, and instructional frameworks. This position collaborates with district and campus leadership to ensure high-quality instructional materials are implemented with fidelity, curriculum and assessments remain aligned to state standards, and instructional systems support strong student outcomes across campuses. The Teaching and Learning STEM Curriculum Coordinator provides expertise and guidance in mathematics and science curriculum systems to strengthen instructional coherence and student achievement across campuses through assessment alignment, professional learning, curriculum implementation monitoring, and data-informed instructional improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certifications Bachelor's degree in education or related field Master's degree in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on mathematics or science preferred. Valid Texas Teaching Certificate ESL Certification Preferred Knowledge & Skills Deep understanding of curriculum design, instructional planning, assessment development, and Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Knowledge of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) and implementation practices Strong understanding of instructional systems, curriculum alignment, and data analysis practices Ability to analyze student achievement data and support instructional decision-making. Strong organizational, collaboration, communication, and leadership skills Ability to lead professional learning and facilitate collaborative planning structures. Preferred Experience Minimum of 5 years of successful instructional experience Experience in curriculum development, instructional leadership, or district-level academic support Experience facilitating professional learning and supporting campus instructional systems.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Curriculum Development and Alignment Develop, revise, and maintain districtwide curriculum documents, pacing guides, clarity documents, instructional resources, and support materials aligned to TEKS and district priorities. Ensure alignment between curriculum, instruction, assessment, and district instructional expectations. Collaborate with district and campus leadership to support vertically aligned instructional systems. Support the implementation of district-adopted instructional materials and curriculum frameworks across campuses. Assessment and Data Analysis Design, revise, and support the implementation of district common assessments and assessment frameworks. Ensure assessments are aligned to curriculum expectations, state standards, and district instructional priorities. Analyze district, campus, and student performance data to identify trends, strengths, and opportunities for instructional improvement. Collaborate with district and campus leadership to adjust curriculum resources and instructional supports based on student performance data. Curriculum Implementation and Instructional Systems Monitor and support consistent implementation of districtwide curriculum, instructional frameworks, and assessment systems across campuses. Conduct curriculum and instructional implementation reviews to identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement. Support the development and refinement of district instructional expectations and implementation guidance documents. Collaborate with campus leadership teams to strengthen instructional coherence and implementation fidelity across campuses. Professional Learning and Leadership Support Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to district curriculum, assessment systems, instructional priorities, and implementation expectations. Support campus leadership teams in the planning and execution of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), including curriculum internalization, rehearsal, assessment analysis, and data-driven planning structures. Collaborate with district and campus leaders to strengthen instructional systems and educator capacity. Provide ongoing support related to curriculum implementation, assessment practices, and instructional planning processes. Continuous Improvement Remain current on TEKS updates, state assessment requirements, instructional best practices, and curriculum trends. Participate in ongoing professional learning and district improvement initiatives. Participate in the Texas Mathematics Academies K-3 and the Texas Mathematics Academies Deep Dives.
