Primary Purpose:
Provide leadership and coordination to ensure an aligned and articulated academic program in a specified content area PK-12. Develop and manage the curriculum and assessments for the specified area. Support teachers with the instructional delivery of the curriculum and provide professional learning. Minimum Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field; Texas teacher certification; five (5) years of teaching experience in assigned area.
Major Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development & Instructional Support 1. Support and facilitate curriculum development in the specified area. 2. Facilitate the purchase of appropriate curriculum materials, resources, and supplies; select instructional materials through the Instructional Materials Allotment process. 3. Plan, develop and manage program area budget. 4. Support teachers with the implementation of the curriculum in the specified area. 5. Provide on-site assistance to teachers and academic teams. 6. Work collaboratively with learning community and campus personnel such as area coordinators, instructional coaches, department/grade level heads to analyze and respond to school needs and data. 7. Conduct frequent classroom walk-throughs and provide appropriate feedback to teachers and campus leadership. 8. Model the use of technology tools for instruction and student learning. 9. Support and lead district school improvement initiatives (i.e. assessment plan, Effective Schools Framework). Professional Development 10. Facilitate the participation of the administrators, instructional coaches, and teachers in professional learning experiences to enhance their job- related knowledge and skills. 11. Conduct professional learning training for district programs as required. 12. Continue own professional growth and development through memberships; attendance at relevant meetings, workshops and conferences; enrollment in advanced courses; and similar activities. 13. Keep up-to-date with changes and developments in the profession by attending professional workshops and meetings, reading professional journals and other publications, and participating in other experiences. Assessment Development 14. Develop district assessments aligned the state standards and the expected level of rigor . 15. Collaborate with campus personnel to develop curriculum-based assessments aligned to the depth and complexity of the
TEKS. 16.
Assist with the analysis of data to inform instruction. Other 17. Follow Educator Code of Conduct & all policies, procedures, laws and State/Federal regulations. 18. Perform other duties as assigned.
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibilities. Guidance and direction to subject area teachers and staff members regarding curriculum. Working Conditions (Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Demands): Maintain emotional control under stress. Prolonged use of computer; work regularly requires work outside the normal workweek; coordination of multiple projects; must be able to push, pull, lift, and/or carry at least 30 lbs.; work with frequent interruptions.
