Electrical Apprenticeship Instructor Propel Career Academy San Antonio, TX Job Details Part-time $45 - $50 an hour 19 hours ago Qualifications Behavior management Computer operation Electrical work Enterprise Learning Management Adult education Time management Full Job Description Position Overview Propel Career Academy is seeking experienced electrical professionals to serve as Part-Time Evening Instructors within our Registered Electrical Apprenticeship Program. This role is ideal for industry professionals who are passionate about developing the next generation of electricians while continuing their careers in the field. The Part-Time Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction during scheduled evening classes, supporting apprentice success, and ensuring that students achieve the required competencies to progress through the apprenticeship program.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Student Learning Deliver classroom and laboratory instruction in accordance with the approved apprenticeship curriculum, including NCCER Electrical curriculum and supplemental instructional resources. Facilitate engaging lessons that connect theory to real-world electrical applications. Conduct demonstrations, hands-on activities, and practical exercises that reinforce learning objectives. Assess apprentice knowledge and skill development through quizzes, exams, projects, and performance evaluations. Provide timely feedback and coaching to support apprentice growth and success. Classroom & Lab Management Maintain a safe, organized, and professional learning environment. Enforce classroom expectations, attendance requirements, and safety procedures. Prepare instructional materials, equipment, and training aids needed for scheduled classes. Ensure proper care and use of classroom and lab equipment. Student Support & Communication Foster a positive learning environment that promotes engagement, accountability, and professionalism. Provide guidance and support to apprentices experiencing academic or performance challenges. Maintain effective communication with students regarding assignments, expectations, and progress. Administrative Responsibilities Record and maintain accurate attendance, grades, and student performance documentation. Utilize the Learning Management System (Blackboard) for attendance, grading, assignments, and instructional communication. Submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner. Attend instructor meetings, professional development sessions, and program trainings as required. QualificationsExperience Minimum three (3) years of journey-level experience in the electrical industry. Previous instructional, training, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to adult learners. Certifications & Training Journeyman Electrician license. NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) certification or willingness to obtain. Familiarity with NCCER curriculum and apprenticeship training models preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong presentation and communication skills. Ability to engage and motivate adult learners. Effective classroom management and facilitation skills. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and learning management systems. Strong organizational and time management abilities. Commitment to safety, professionalism, and student success. Physical Requirements Ability to work in classroom and laboratory environments. Ability to demonstrate electrical tools, equipment, and industry practices. Ability to stand, walk, and engage in instructional activities for extended periods. Ability to lift and move instructional materials and equipment as needed. Work Schedule This is a part-time position supporting evening apprenticeship classes. Typical schedules range from 2 evenings per week , depending on instructional assignment and enrollment needs. Work Environment Classroom and hands-on training laboratory environments. Exposure to typical electrical training equipment and tools. Compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and instructional standards is required.
Pay:
$45.00 - $50.00 per hour
