Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, student-focused Assessment Specialist to join our Assessment & Learning Center team in a part-time role. This position plays an important role in supporting student success through test administration, tutoring support, and excellent customer service. If you enjoy working with students, are highly organized, and thrive in an educational environment, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities Proctor assessments in-person and through online technology platforms Administer and score placement tests and other assessment instruments Assist students with approved testing accommodations Tutor referred students in foundational academic skills including: Math Reading Study habits Test-taking strategies Provide writing support and essay review assistance Maintain confidentiality and integrity of testing materials and student records Enter and maintain test scores and student information in the college database Schedule appointments and assist students in person, by phone, and through email Support daily operations of the Assessment & Learning Center Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming testing environment Communicate student progress and concerns with department leadership Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Required High school diploma Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism Excellent communication and customer service skills Typing proficiency of 35 WPM or higher Preferred Previous teaching or tutoring experience Postsecondary education in Office Administration or a related field — including a technical certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree — is preferred Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Patient and encouraging with students Comfortable using technology and learning management systems Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Able to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment Work Environment This position requires regular interaction with students, faculty, and staff and includes physical presence in an office/classroom setting. Duties may involve sitting, standing, walking, and light lifting. Schedule Part-time hours; schedule may vary based on department needs.
