Building Kidz of Concord and Building Kidz of Dublin are seeking a dynamic, engaging, and enthusiastic Dance Teacher to join our Performing Arts Team. Our vision is to empower children to become strong, confident individuals through our Performing Arts Program, fostering creativity, self-expression, and a lifelong love of the arts in young learners. Prospective teachers should be energetic, creative, and enthusiastic about working with young children. Candidates must be comfortable engaging children through movement, imaginative play, and age-appropriate instruction. Our Teaching Artists receive training in our specialized curriculum and teaching approach. This is a great opportunity for talented individuals to share their passion for dance and the performing arts while inspiring young learners. The ideal candidate has experience working with young children, strong classroom management skills, flexibility, and a background in dance. Experience in music and theater is also highly valued. Responsibilities Teach dance classes to groups of children from toddler age through Kindergarten. Classes range from 20-30 minutes. Manage a classroom of young children in a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate manner. Develop lesson plans and implement curriculum aligned with Building Kidz Performing Arts standards. Promote a feeling of security and trust in children by being warm, supportive, and encouraging. Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and initiative in a collaborative educational environment. Work harmoniously within a multicultural team of educators and Performing Arts staff. Attend regular staff meetings and actively incorporate feedback into teaching practices. Support Performing Arts productions and special events as needed. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Performing Arts Director. Qualifications Strong knowledge of a variety of dance forms, terminology, and practices, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, and creative movement. Minimum of 2-3 years of formal training in one or more of the following disciplines: dance, music, and theater. Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience preferred but not required. Experience developing and teaching music and/or theater activities utilizing a variety of instruments and instructional techniques preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Passion for working with young children and fostering creativity through the performing arts. Pre-Employment Requirements Physical examination and TB clearance. Reference check. Background check and fingerprint clearance. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
