JOB SUMMARY
Join our vibrant dance community as a Dance Instructor Assistant and play a vital role in inspiring students of all ages to discover the joy of movement! In this energetic position, you will support lead instructors in delivering engaging dance classes, assist with lesson planning, and help create a positive, inclusive environment for learners. Whether working with children, teens, or adults, your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster confidence, creativity, and a love for dance. This paid role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your teaching skills while contributing to a dynamic arts education setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist lead dance instructors in preparing lesson plans and class activities that cater to diverse skill levels and age groups. Help set up and organize dance spaces, including props, costumes, and equipment. Learn choreography and assist students in immersive meditation-in-motion sessions like Shaman Dance, which combines ancestral wisdom with modern movement. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and ensuring safety during dance sessions.
REQUIREMENTS
Background in dance. Strong classroom management skills with the ability to motivate and engage students effectively. Basic understanding of Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese is a plus but not required. Passion for dance education combined with excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
