Instructors Conga Kids - 3.3 Los Angeles, CA Job Details Part-time $30 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Driver's License Driving Child abuse reporting laws Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description The Instructor is a representative for Conga Kids, teaching students various dance styles for all our programming; In-School Residency, Expanded Learning, Conga Beatz and Bridge the Generation Workshops. The Instructor should have established experience in dance and/or sports movement disciplines.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction Implement Conga Kids art integrated curriculum to support social and emotional development through dance, music, and sports instruction. To arrive on- time and be ready for all classes. Cultivate and sustain a positive, nurturing, and well-managed learning environment for all participants. Work with students in a school or community setting. Modify the instruction to accommodate diverse learners. Work closely with the Programs Manager and Program Coordinators to stay on schedule for each lesson plan for each program. Adheres to all policies and guidelines set forth by Conga Kids. Be a professional, positive, and supporting liaison for Conga Kids. Perform other duties as assigned. Administration & Communication Communicate efficiently with the Programs Coordinators regarding program needs, schedule changes, and/or updates immediately by call, text, or email. Foster and maintain relationships and clear communication with the Conga Kids Program Coordinators and classroom teachers. Document successes and challenges to Program Coordinators. Report any incidents involving students that result in an injury, behavioral disruption, or emotional distress must be promptly addressed, documented, and reported. Prompt response to correspondence email, call, or text within the hour. Perform other duties as assigned. Training & Events Attend all staff meetings and training. Participate in Conga Kids community events, such as Bridge the Generation Workshops, District Competitions, and the Finale Celebration. Driving Travel daily/weekly to various school
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
A passion for youth development, arts education, and/or sports education. Minimum 2 years dance training/experience (multiple dance disciplines preferred). Previous experience working with children in a school or community setting (K-8 preferred). Experience teaching dance, music, physical education, or related performing arts is a plus. Cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Strong classroom, instruction, and communication skills. Ability to work early mornings, afternoons, or evenings depending on program schedule. Experience with public speaking and presentations. Experience working with Neurodiverse participants of all ages. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and maintain positive relationships. Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of social-and-emotional learning practices (preferred).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must have a Driver's License. Must have access to reliable transportation with appropriate auto insurance coverage. Must obtain TB test clearance. Must obtain LiveScan clearance. Must be a Mandated Reporter. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds. Required to use personal cell phones to clock in and out. Required to maintain communication with Program Managers, Coordinators, and Human Resources.
