JOB SUMMARY
Do you have a background in dance and love working with children? We are seeking an energetic and skilled Dance Teaching Artist to teach KPOP dance to elementary and middle school students. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of KPOP choreography, performance style, and musicality, and can adapt KPOP-inspired movement for young dancers. ​
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and teach age-appropriate KPOP dance classes inspired by current artists, groups, and trends. Lead structured classes that include warm-up, technique, choreography, and a cool-down. Teach fundamental KPOP movement styles, including precision, musicality, formations, and expression. Break down choreography clearly for beginner and intermediate dancers. Teach safe warm-ups, stretching, and conditioning. Create short routines or performance pieces for showcases or events. Introduce students to performance concepts such as facials, stage presence, and group synchronization. Effectively and safely lead a high-energy classroom environment. Implement pre-determined curriculum and learning goals in a fun and inclusive manner. Foster a learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence. Communicate effectively with students, staff and families. Track student progress and provide feedback when necessary. Teaching Artists are required to participate in 4 information booths/events per year.​
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience teaching KPOP dance and/or hip-hop to children or adolescents preferred Experience teaching dance to youth individually or in a group setting Ability to engage, inspire, and manage a classroom Strong background in one or more dance styles Experience working with elementary and secondary-level children Availability in afternoons and evenings Experience working in after-school programs, schools, or community centers preferred CPR/First Aid certification (preferred, but not required)
Preferred:
Experience working in after-school programs, schools, or community centers Choreography experience for student performances Bilingual abilities (depending on community needs) ​
PAY RANGE
$30-$35 per hour
EXPECTED HOURS
No more than 20 hours per week
