In this energetic role, you will design engaging dance activities, lead dynamic classes, and foster a positive environment that encourages growth, confidence, and fun. Your expertise will help cultivate a love for dance across various styles while ensuring a safe, inclusive, and motivating experience for all campers. Responsibilities Develop and implement age-appropriate dance curricula that incorporate various styles such as ballet, theater dance, and contemporary movement. Lead daily dance classes and workshops that promote skill development, creativity, and physical fitness among children and teenagers. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful, safe, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with other camp staff to coordinate interdisciplinary activities that integrate dance with arts, theater, or physical education. Provide individual support and tutoring to students needing extra assistance in dance techniques or classroom engagement. Capture memorable moments through photography during performances and classes to showcase camper progress and camp highlights. Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards and promote positive childhood development principles. Skills Strong background in curriculum development tailored for children and young adolescents in dance or performing arts. Proven experience in teaching dance, choreography, or related movement disciplines with classroom management skills. Knowledge of childhood development, early childhood education, preschool experience, and behavior management strategies. Competence in lesson planning that combines artistic expression with educational objectives; familiarity with theater arts is a plus. Excellent communication skills for working with students, parents, and fellow staff members; proficiency in photography is advantageous. Join us this summer to make a lasting impact through dance!
