Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic After School Dance Instructor to join our team. This role involves teaching dance classes to children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and experience working with children, fostering creativity, confidence, and physical development through movement. This position offers an opportunity to inspire young students while promoting healthy activity and artistic expression after school hours. Responsibilities Plan and deliver age-appropriate dance lessons that align with curriculum goals and student needs Manage classroom behavior to create a positive learning environment using effective behavior management techniques Ensure the safety of all students during classes, including knowledge of basic first aid procedures Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, and confidence in students of various skill levels Maintain a clean and organized dance studio or classroom environment Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate special events or performances Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs or different learning styles Qualifications Prior experience with teaching dance or working with children in educational, childcare, or camp settings Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage young learners effectively Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is a plus Experience in areas such as special education, theater, sports coaching, babysitting, tutoring, or Christian counseling is advantageous Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a positive, inclusive environment for all students Passion for working with children and promoting physical activity through dance Reliable, responsible, and committed to providing a safe and nurturing space for children after school hours
