Job Description
Job Summary Art & Soul School is seeking an energetic, organized, and inspiring Dance Director to lead and grow our dance department. This is an in-person, part-time leadership position based in Santa Rosa, California. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday from approximately 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM , with occasional evenings and weekends required for recitals, performances, special events, staff training, and community outreach activities . During regular afternoon hours, the Dance Director will actively visit dance classrooms, observe instruction, mentor dance staff, provide coaching and support, and ensure that school policies, procedures, deadlines, and program standards are consistently upheld throughout the department. This hands-on leadership presence is essential to maintaining a high-quality experience for students, families, and staff. The Dance Director's primary responsibilities are: Mentoring and developing our current dance staff Planning, organizing, and managing all dance recitals and performances Growing dance enrollment and strengthening student retention This leadership role is responsible for creating a thriving dance program through strong staff development, exceptional student experiences, and strategic enrollment growth. The Dance Director will work closely with dance mentors, administrative staff, students, and families to ensure a positive, professional, and inspiring environment that reflects the mission and values of Art & Soul School. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, excellent communicator, and passionate advocate for dance education who enjoys developing teachers, building programs, and creating memorable experiences for students and families.
