Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and energetic After School Dance Instructor to join our team. This role involves teaching dance classes to children in a safe, engaging, and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will have a love for dance and experience working with children, helping to foster their creativity, confidence, and physical development. This position offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on students' lives while promoting healthy activity and artistic expression. Duties Lead after-school dance classes for children of various ages and skill levels Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate fundamental dance techniques and creative movement Ensure a safe learning environment by supervising students and enforcing classroom rules Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management strategies Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and participation Assist with setting up dance spaces, organizing equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of the studio or classroom Incorporate elements of theater, movement, or other arts to enhance the dance experience Support students' social-emotional development through encouragement and constructive feedback Adhere to all safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Skills Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage children effectively Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or early childhood education Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques Ability to teach dance fundamentals while fostering creativity and confidence Experience with special education or inclusive teaching strategies is a plus Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff Passion for working with children and promoting healthy physical activity through dance
