Part-time We are looking for a fun and friendly pickleball teaching pro to join the team at our indoor pickleball club!
Job Summary:
The Pickleball Teaching Professional is responsible for providing high-quality instruction and coaching to players of all skill levels and all ages. This role involves designing and implementing engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting the growth of pickleball within the community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the sport, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to helping players improve their game.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction:
Teach pickleball lessons to individuals and groups, both junior and adult, focusing on skill development, strategy, and game etiquette. Tailor instruction to the needs of players ranging from beginners to advanced levels.
Lesson Planning:
Develop and implement lesson plans that are structured, effective, and engaging. Utilize various teaching methods and drills to address different learning styles and skill levels.
Player Development:
Assess players' skills and progress regularly. Provide constructive feedback and personalized coaching to help players reach their goals.
Promotion:
Promote pickleball programs and events through various channels, including social media, local events, and community outreach. Encourage participation and growth of the sport.
Club Maintenance:
Ensure that the pickleball courts and equipment are well-maintained and in good condition. Report any issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
Customer Service:
Provide excellent customer service to players, answering questions, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
Collaboration:
Work with other staff members and professionals to coordinate schedules, events, and programming. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Qualifications:
Certification:
Pickleball teaching certification from a recognized organization (e.g., IPTPA, USAPA, PPR) is mandatory.
Experience:
3-5+ years of experience teaching or coaching pickleball or tennis at various skill levels is strongly preferred.
Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire players. Proficiency in designing and executing effective lesson plans.
Knowledge:
In-depth knowledge of pickleball rules, techniques, and strategies. Familiarity with current trends and best practices in pickleball instruction.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to demonstrate pickleball techniques and participate in physical activities as needed. DUPR 4.5 or higher is strongly preferred.
Customer Focus:
Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
Working Conditions:
This role will require evening and weekend hours to accommodate lesson schedules and special events. The position requires physical activity/abilities related to coaching and demonstrating techniques. This position will require moderate technology/computer fluency for working with our court scheduling software, Court Reserve. You will be joining a team of teaching pros who share the responsibility of our class and clinic curriculums.
