The ideal candidate will have a background in arts related interests such as dance/movement, tumbling/cheer or musical theater/improv/acting and experience working with students of various ages. Various child care or supervision experience is also great! We provide instructors for after school programs at elementary schools in CT and Westchester. We focus on a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression and most importantly we want the children having FUN during their one hour session. Classes are offered Monday Through Friday starting between 3pm and 3:35pm and go until 4pm or 4:35pm. We need instructors and substitutes for each week day. Ideally an instructor will teach more than one day, but we also have instructors that teach just one day as well. Responsibilities The class is yours! Create a lesson that you think your kids will enjoy for whichever arts related style you have been assigned (movement, Hip hop, Acting/improv/Drama, K-pop etc) Be prepared! Bring the proper music and materials for the session Keep the class organized and engaged Arrive early! most classes start between 3pm and 4pm, So we need you in the building at least 10mins before the session is due to begin. Be friendly and helpful with school staff and parents Maintain a clean and professional appearance Encourage creativity! Most of the children participating will not have much experience with the arts so this is a great chance for them to explore dance/drama Qualifications Reliable Transportation Experience working with elementary age children in any capacity Passion for the arts a plus! Knowledge of various styles of dance a plus! Experience with theater a plus! Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and ownership. Additional skills in cooking or culinary arts, gymnastics, yoga, photography etc are advantageous but not required.
