Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor

Aviv Jiu Jitsu, a premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu academy led by multiple times world champions, is seeking a motivated and dedicated Jiu Jitsu Instructor to join our team. The Instructor will play an essential role in teaching, motivating, and guiding students of all ages and skill levels, while upholding Aviv Jiu Jitsu's methodology and standards. In addition to teaching, the Instructor is responsible for helping maintain a clean, welcoming, and disciplined environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

Class Instruction:

Conduct classes according to Aviv Jiu Jitsu's curriculum, covering techniques, drills, sparring, and self-defense applications. Lead classes across age groups, including Little Kids, Kids, Fundamentals, and Adults. Adjust instruction based on each student's skill level, ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment.

Student Engagement and Development:

Encourage and motivate students to reach their personal and athletic goals within a respectful, positive atmosphere. Provide constructive feedback to students on their progress and areas for improvement. Foster student growth and track attendance, including stripe progress, to ensure readiness for belt promotions.

Academy Maintenance and Preparation:

Ensure the mats, equipment, and general training area are clean and organized before and after classes. Handle setup of training equipment and maintain cleanliness, performing deep cleaning on a weekly basis.

Administrative and Student Follow-Up:

Assist in administrative tasks as needed, such as updating student profiles and attendance. Actively help with member retention by following up with absent students. Call leads, schedule trial classes, and support new student enrollment with the goal of expanding the student community.

Compliance and Confidentiality:

Adhere to Aviv Jiu Jitsu's code of conduct, including policies on non-solicitation and confidentiality. Respect and uphold Aviv Jiu Jitsu's non-compete agreement, avoiding teaching Aviv's methodology elsewhere.

Professional Development:

Engage in continuous learning, attend head coach-led sessions to deepen understanding of Aviv Jiu Jitsu's training methods. Actively integrate feedback from head coaches to improve teaching practices.

Qualifications:

Experience and Skill Level:

A minimum of a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu with experience teaching children and adults; higher belt levels are preferred. Knowledge and respect for traditional and modern Jiu Jitsu techniques. Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with students across all age groups.
