Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant educational team as an Afterschool Chess Coach, where your passion for teaching and love of chess will inspire young minds to think strategically, solve problems, and develop confidence. In this role, you will lead engaging chess sessions for students of various ages and skill levels, fostering a fun, inclusive environment that encourages critical thinking and sportsmanship. Your energy and communication skills will help cultivate a positive learning atmosphere, making each session an exciting opportunity for growth and discovery. Each afterschool chess group session is from 3:15 to 4:30 pm at a school west of Buckhead, at $50 per session. Must be able to pass a thorough background check. Email us at admin@chessforchamps.com. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging chess lessons tailored to students' ages and skill levels, ensuring clear understanding of game rules and strategies Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a focused, respectful environment conducive to learning Work well and plan with other team members Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages participation, curiosity, and teamwork among students Always be on time and be able to attend every session (10 sessions per semester) Maintain organized session plans and attendance records to share after each session with manager Attend training on teaching chess to children Experience Knowledge of chess rules and strategies Demonstrated ability to manage groups of children with patience and enthusiasm Excellent communication skills to clearly explain concepts and motivate students Background in childcare, education, or classroom management is a plus but not required Join us in making a meaningful impact by nurturing young learners' minds through the timeless game of chess.
