Norma's Academy of Dance, Fairburn, GA Position Type:
Part-Time Teaching Position Overview Norma's Academy of Dance is a vibrant dance studio located in Fairburn, Georgia. For over 50 years, our studio has served families in the South Fulton community by providing high-quality dance education in a supportive and inspiring environment. We are seeking a warm, knowledgeable, and dependable Ballet Instructor to teach beginner and advanced beginner dancers ages 7+. This role is ideal for an instructor who is passionate about helping young dancers build strong technical foundations while creating a positive and encouraging classroom environment. We are primarily seeking an instructor for Thursday evening ballet classes for ages 7-10 and Teen Beginner Ballet (11+). There is also potential for additional teaching hours for an instructor who is comfortable teaching younger dancers ages 3-4, 4-5, and 5-7. While ballet is our primary need, versatility in additional styles is a plus.Current Teaching Need Primary Classes:
Thursday:
6:00-8:15 PM Beginner / Advanced Beginner Ballet Ages 7-10 and Teen Ballet (11+)Potential Additional Teaching Opportunities:
Ages 3-4 Ballet/Jazz or Ballet/Tap Combo Ages 4-5 Ballet/Jazz or Ballet/Tap Combo Ages 5-7 Foundational Ballet Additional styles such as jazz, tap, lyrical/contemporary, or hip hop are a plus Key Responsibilities The Ballet Instructor should embody the mission and values of Norma's Academy of Dance in every class and interaction.Primary responsibilities include:
Teach engaging, age-appropriate ballet classes for beginner and advanced beginner students Build strong technical foundations while fostering confidence, discipline, and a love of dance Create a positive, welcoming, and encouraging classroom environment Choreograph class routines for the Holiday and Spring Concerts Communicate professionally with families and studio staff Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and occasional studio events Support classroom management and maintain high standards for behavior and learning Contribute positively to a collaborative and team-oriented studio culture Required Skills & Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate is: Passionate about teaching children and helping young dancers grow Strong in ballet technique and experienced teaching beginner and advanced beginner students Warm, patient, encouraging, and able to create a positive classroom environment Organized, dependable, and able to commit to a consistent schedule throughout the school year A strong communicator with families, students, and staff Comfortable teaching children ages 7+ and ideally younger dancers ages 3-7 Confident in classroom management and able to keep students engaged Versatile and open to teaching additional styles or age groups if needed Professional, collaborative, and excited to grow with the studio over time Our Values At Norma's Academy of Dance, we believe: Dance lessons are life lessons.
