Position:
Early Childhood Dance Teacher/Office Manager Overview:
Join a team who understands the power and importance of well structured and delivered Early Childhood Dance Education. Chicago Ballet Center is also seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join our team in a dual role as Dance Teacher and Office Manager. This position is ideal for individuals who have a passion for teaching young dancers and excel in administrative tasks. You will play a key role in both managing our office operations and inspiring students. Key Responsibilities:
Dance Instruction:
Teach three levels of Saturday Early Childhood dance classes. Teach low-level Saturday jazz and tap classes as needed. Learn and implement Cuban methodology in dance instruction and adapt teaching techniques accordingly. Attend quarterly Professional Development and Faculty meetings. Choreograph and rehearse appropriate dancers for Sweet Suite Nutcracker and Extrava-DANCE-a performances. Attend all theatre rehearsals and performances
Office Management:
Manage administrative duties, including responding to inquiries from parents, managing student registrations, and processing tuition payments. Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills with effective written and verbal communication.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience. Willingness to learn and implement Cuban methodology in dance instruction. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Business and/or Dance Education degree holders preferred.
Hours and Salary:
Total Hours:
5 hours of Saturday teaching and 5 hours of administration on Sunday. This person will be the first teacher contacted for appropriate substitute opportunities.
Salary:
Competitive. $20 - $35/hour.
