Job Description

Share Your Passion. Inspire Confidence. Create Memories Through Dance! Do you love working with children, teaching dance, and helping students shine both on and off the stage? The Crystal Lake Park District is looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and energetic Dance Instructor to join our Cultural Arts team! Whether you're teaching a tiny dancer taking their first steps or helping experienced performers perfect a recital routine, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact while sharing your love of dance.
Classification:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt Schedule:
Approximately 5 hours per week; hours vary based on class offerings and enrollment What You'll Do As a Dance Instructor, you'll plan and lead engaging dance classes while creating a positive, welcoming environment where participants can learn, grow, and have fun.
Responsibilities Include:
Planning and teaching assigned dance classes for participants ranging from walking age through 18 years old. Creating lesson plans and choreography in collaboration with the Recreation Supervisor-Cultural Arts & Special Events. Preparing students for parent watch days and the annual dance recital. Building confidence, creativity, and a love of dance in every participant. Maintaining a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment. Communicating effectively with participants, parents, guardians, and staff. Serving as a positive role model both inside and outside the classroom. Promoting Park District programs and activities. Completing attendance records and program evaluations. Following all Park District policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
What We're Looking For Qualifications:
Dance training and experience working with children from walking age through 18 years old. Teaching experience is helpful but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Enthusiasm, creativity, and a positive attitude. Ability to motivate and engage students of varying ages and skill levels. Strong organizational skills and reliability. Patience, professionalism, and excellent customer service skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with staff and families.
