Recruitment Overview Lawrence Public Schools seeks dynamic and experienced teachers to join our team who possess a growth mindset, value collaboration and continuous feedback, are passionate about their content, and have an unwavering belief that all students are capable of meeting rigorous academic expectations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and implement standards-aligned lessons using the Massachusetts Frameworks and WIDA standards Use formative and summative assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Manage student behavior in alignment with school expectations and create an inclusive, engaging learning environment Communicate regularly with students' families to promote academic success and language development Participate in school-wide functions, professional development, and curriculum planning Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with ILPs and state mandates Support students with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, including newcomers and SLIFE population Complete other duties as assigned Meet weekly with a grade-level content team and an interdisciplinary cohort. Collaborate with Special Education and ESL teachers to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students Participate in biweekly instructional coaching sessions to improve instructional practices. Will to improve practice by taking and implementing frequent feedback Humility and a good sense of humor
