Job Description

Experienced Ballet Instructor (Part-Time) | Dance Unlimited - Augusta, ME Dance Unlimited is seeking an exceptional, experienced Ballet Instructor to join our team. We are an established, award-winning studio known for excellence in training, a positive studio culture, and a commitment to developing confident, well-rounded dancers. This position is ideal for a teacher who values both technical integrity and meaningful impact , and who is passionate about shaping the next generation of dancers in a supportive, high-standard environment.
Compensation:
$25-$45 per hour, based on experience, training, and teaching background
Responsibilities:
Teach structured ballet classes for children and teens (beginner through advanced levels) Provide strong, developmentally appropriate technical training (pointe experience preferred) Plan and deliver engaging, progressive curriculum aligned with student growth Foster a classroom environment that builds confidence, discipline, and a love of dance Communicate professionally with students, families, and staff Contribute positively to studio culture, events, and performances Support long-term student development and retention through relationship-building
Qualifications:
Proven experience teaching ballet to children and/or teens Strong technical training in ballet (pointe and/or contemporary experience preferred) Ability to teach multiple levels with clarity and confidence Excellent classroom management and communication skills Professional, reliable, and team-oriented Passion for mentoring young dancers and contributing to their personal growth
Preferred Qualifications:
3+ years of teaching experience in a studio setting Experience with recital choreography and performance preparation Commitment to ongoing professional development
Position Details:
Part-time evening and/or weekend hours Substitute teaching opportunities available Supportive, team-centered work environment
