Job Description

Job Overview Betty Jo's Dance Center is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly skilled Tap Instructor to lead our most advanced middle school and high school competition tap dancers and continue our long-standing tradition of excellence in tap dance education. For decades, Betty Jo's has been known for producing strong, versatile tap dancers who excel both on the competition stage and in the classroom. We are looking for a teacher who is committed to preserving and building upon that legacy by challenging advanced dancers, developing exceptional technique, fostering artistry, and inspiring a lifelong love of tap. Position Overview The Advanced Competition Tap Instructor will teach our highest-level tap competition companies. The ideal candidate is passionate about developing technically strong, musically sophisticated dancers and can create a positive, disciplined, and motivating learning environment. Responsibilities Teach advanced tap technique classes for middle school and high school dancers. Choreograph and rehearse competition routines that showcase technical excellence, musicality, creativity, and performance quality - working with the current teacher to further the student's progress. Develop curriculum that challenges advanced dancers and supports long-term growth. Prepare dancers for competitions, performances, and auditions through consistent training and constructive feedback. Build positive relationships with students and families while maintaining high expectations and professionalism. Create an environment where dancers are encouraged to work hard, stay humble, and be kind. Qualifications Extensive training and experience in tap dance. Experience teaching and developing advanced tap dancers. Strong choreography skills with experience creating successful competition routines. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Passion for mentoring young dancers and helping them reach their full potential. Competition and performance experience preferred. Pay:
$40.00 - $55.00 per hour
