Schedule:
Part-time, 4-10 hours per week, Monday
  • Thursday (4:15 PM
  • 9:45 PM) with potential additional hours on Sundays and flexibility for earlier evening hours.
May required weekends for required performance and competition responsibilities. Summer hours vary depending on the role and studio programming.

Tumbling/ Acro Director Compensation & Benefits:
Starting wage: $20.00 per hour with an opportunity for a pay increase after 90 days based on performance. Compensation is negotiable and will be based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and background. Winter break off and week of July 4th off . Opportunity for additional leadership roles and professional development.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Tumbling Instructor for Dancers to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in tumbling and/or gymnastics training , with the ability to spot students safely and effectively . This role requires a deep understanding of youth athletic development , ensuring students progress in strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence while maintaining a safe and structured environment. The Tumbling Instructor will work with dancers ages 4-18, helping them enhance acrobatic skills that complement their dance training. The instructor must have strong classroom management, progression-based coaching techniques, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Instruction & Student Development:
Teach age-appropriate tumbling classes for dancers ages 4-18, focusing on skills such as rolls, handstands, cartwheels, walkovers, aerials, handsprings, and tucks. Ensure proper technique, strength training, and flexibility exercises are integrated into each class. Spot students safely and confidently while encouraging controlled progressions to reduce injury risk. Develop lesson plans that support individual growth, allowing students to advance at a safe and appropriate pace. While following the MMDS curriculum Track student progress and provide feedback and progress reports bi-annually. Recognize and celebrate student achievements using WOW Cards or similar celebratory methods.
Safety & Class Structure:
Enforce strict safety protocols in spotting, stretching, and conditioning techniques. Maintain a structured and disciplined classroom to maximize student engagement and focus. Adapt instruction based on each dancer's skill level, ensuring progressive development while keeping students challenged and motivated.
Performance & Studio Representation:
Work closely with dance instructors to incorporate tumbling elements into choreography for performances and competitions. Provide recommendations on proper strength and flexibility training to enhance student progress. Attend and support all studio performances, showcases, and competitions, including select weekends throughout the year.
Communication & Engagement:
Maintain open communication with parents and studio management, providing updates on student progress and class expectations. Work collaboratively with other instructors to align class curriculum with overall studio goals. Participate in team meetings, training programs, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Strong background in tumbling, gymnastics, acrobatics, or athletic movement training. Experience in spotting and safely training students in progressive tumbling skills. Ability to effectively teach students ages 4-18, ensuring proper technique and safe skill development. Knowledge of youth development in athletic training, strength, and flexibility progression. Excellent classroom management skills, ensuring a structured, disciplined, and engaging learning environment. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, able to work with dance instructors to integrate tumbling into routines. Positive and professional demeanor with a welcoming attitude toward students and families. Well-organized, reliable, and able to adapt lessons based on student progress. Willingness to continue education through workshops, certifications, or training programs. Must be available to attend all studio performances and competitions (select weekends required). Passion for mentoring and inspiring students to develop confidence, discipline, and artistry in tumbling.
