Job Description

Swim Lesson Instructor | Job Description As an instructor at SwimBranson, you will be teaching swim instruction to children ages 3 months to 17 years of age using the specially designed curriculum and company standards. Your role in teaching provides students with an important life-long skill in water safety and swimming technique encouraging love and respect for the water. To be successful in this role, you must elicit positive energy, passion, and patience as well as possess the ability to adapt and motivate a varying age range and swimmer personality. Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age. High school diploma, GED, or working toward. Comfortable in the water and has a familiarity with all four competitive strokes. Instructor experience a plus. Requires problem resolution skills and ability to work autonomously. Ability to work calmly and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be in the water for lengths of time. Excellent communication and time management skills. Must be able to organize, plan, and manage various ages and abilities. Passionate and enthusiastic personality. American Red Cross Lifeguard certification required or completed within 60 days of hire date.

Servant Leadership, Passionate Instruction, Dynamic Progression Attend all trainings and monthly program meetings. Communicate effectively to leadership, peers, families, and swimmers. Be positive and passionate while "on-stage" encouraging swimmers. Instruction and Administration Requirements Must successfully complete Instructor Shadowing & Training (approximately 10-20 hours) within 30 days of hired date. Meets expectations during all instructor evaluations. Attends monthly program meetings. Adheres to uniform standards and cleanliness of pool deck and other areas of use. Understands and follows the lesson curriculum or camp agenda as designated. Prepared to start teaching on time and end on time while managing time evenly among group lesson students making sure all students are engaged for the entire lesson. Assesses progress of students and adjusts teaching methods accordingly for the success of the student. Monitors students in lessons or camps to prevent accidents and injuries. Inputs student skills into software on a minimum monthly basis. Effectively communicates and adheres to staffing and scheduling standards including substitute requirements.
