Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Teacher to join our welcoming studio community in Hampstead, NC. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ballet, but experienced in lyrical, jazz, contemporary, tap, and hip hop. Tumbling experience a plus as we do offer those classes as well. This role is perfect for those with teaching prior experience who want to continue inspiring the next generation of dancers. Duties Plan and deliver high-quality classes for students of varying ages and skill levels, from beginner to advanced. Demonstrate proper technique, alignment, and musicality with clarity and precision. Create a supportive and disciplined classroom environment that fosters growth, respect, and a love for dance. Prepare choreography for studio recitals, performances, and competitions as needed. Provide individualized corrections and constructive feedback to help students improve their technique and artistry. Maintain class records, attendance, and student evaluations in accordance with studio policy. Ensure student safety at all times , including proper warm-up/cool-down practices and injury prevention. Stay current with dance education trends Assist with rehearsals and backstage supervision during performances and events. Model professionalism, punctuality, and a positive attitude both in and out of the classroom. Skills Extensive knowledge of technique and terminology Strong teaching and classroom management skills Ability to communicate corrections clearly and positively Choreographic experience for recitals, performances, and/or competitions Patience and adaptability with dancers of all ages and skill levels Professional demeanor and strong work ethic Strong organizational and time management skills Experience in curriculum development (preferred but not required) Ability to provide positive, encouraging mentorship and guidance to students
