ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION KCS
is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) multi-service organization founded in 1973 and supported by government agencies, foundations, corporations, and individuals. Through programs in social services, education, culture, public health, and workforce development, KCS serves the Korean and greater community across New York and New Jersey.
ABOUT THE POSITION
The NJ Education Department is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Elementary K-Pop Dance Instructor to lead engaging and structured K-Pop dance classes for elementary school students (Kindergarten - 5th Grade) during an 8-week summer camp in Tenafly, NJ (June 29, 2026 - August 21, 2026). This position requires the instructor to create a supportive, fun, and educational environment where students can explore self-expression through dance while developing rhythm, coordination, and confidence. The instructor will teach twice a week for two hours per day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, choreograph, and teach K-Pop dance routines tailored for young learners.
  • Adapt lessons to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a sense of wonder and curiosity about dance and movement.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and encouragement.
  • Engage with students to build positive relationships and foster enthusiasm for dance.
  • Prepare students for studio performances or live showcases, if applicable.
  • Maintain a safe, energetic, and inclusive class environment that encourages learning and enjoyment.
  • Ensure proper classroom setup and cleanup before and after each class.
  • Manage classroom dynamics.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
    Education:
    High school diploma preferred.
      Experience:
      Strong background in K-pop dance and performance, with a passion for teaching young students. Minimum of one year of teaching experience with elementary-aged students.
      • Demonstrated ability to plan, choreograph, and execute dance routines suitable for children.
      • Energetic and positive attitude, capable of motivating and managing young learners.
      • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
      Classroom Management:
      Ability to maintain an engaging, structured, and inclusive classroom environment of up to 20 students without an aide.
      • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents.
      Language Ability:
      Must be able to speak, read, write English fluently.
      • Commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.
      Availability & Commitment:
      Must be able to commute to Tenafly, NJ and commit to the entire duration of the 8-week summer camp.
