Teaching Full Job Description Dance Instructor Duties:

• Plan and deliver dance lessons to students of various ages and skill levels
• Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that align with curriculum objectives
• Teach proper dance techniques, including body alignment, posture, and movement
• Provide individualized instruction and feedback to students to help them improve their dance skills
• Choreograph dance routines for performances and competitions
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to organize recitals and showcases
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Manage student behavior and ensure a positive classroom atmosphere
• Stay updated on current trends and developments in the field of dance education

Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in dance, with expertise in one or more dance styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, hip-hop, pom, cirque, tap, acro)
• Strong knowledge of dance techniques, terminology, and choreography
• Previous experience teaching dance or working with children in an educational setting is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment for students
• Knowledge of curriculum development principles and experience designing lesson plans
• Familiarity with behavior management strategies for maintaining discipline in the classroom
• Passion for educating and inspiring students through the art of dance
• Degree in dance or related field is a plus, but not required
• Must be able to teach on weekends.
