At Blooming Bebe, rhythm isn't just something we teach
  • it's how we show up. It's in the movement, the drumbeat, the stories carried in every step. We're looking for a West African dance teacher who brings that truth into the room and knows how to make it come alive for the youngest movers. This fall, we're bringing West African dance to children on the Upper West Side
  • and we want the right person leading it.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is
A LEAD TEACHING POSITION
for
CHILDREN'S WEST AFRICAN DANCE CLASSES
held every Wednesday afternoon at our Upper West Side location above Broadway Dance Center on West 65th Street.
YOU WILL TEACH TWO AGE GROUPS
  • AGES 2
  • 4•AGES 4•7 CLASSES
RUN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS, 3
15 PM TO 5:00 PM, beginning Fall 2026 through the school year. What you'll be doing:
  • Leading age-appropriate West African dance classes for young children
  • Creating a joyful, culturally rich, and inclusive experience for every child
  • Adapting movement and instruction to meet the developmental needs of each age group
  • Engaging caregivers as part of the learning community
  • Collaborating with Blooming Bebe's lead on curriculum, themes, and class flow
  • WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • and we want to meet all of you, even if the timing isn't perfect right now. Maybe you're...
  • A trained West African dancer with roots in traditional or contemporary practice
  • A teaching artist with experience bringing cultural movement to young children
  • A performer who understands how rhythm and storytelling live in the body
  • Someone who moves between the generations
  • equally at home with a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old
YOU MUST HAVE
  • TRAINING
AND EXPERIENCE IN WEST AFRICAN DANCE
  • this is non-negotiable
  • EXPERIENCE TEACHING CHILDREN AGES 2
  • 7•AVAILABILITY
EVERY WEDNESDAY, 3
15 PM TO 5:00 PM, FALL
